NWS Weather Spotter training classes

USI Public Safety, in partnership with the National Weather Service (NWS), will be offering Weather Spotting Training to the campus community on the following dates:
- 2-4 p.m. Thursday, June 26 in LA 1003
- 2-4 p.m. Thursday, July 31 in LA 1003
These classes are designed to teach individuals how to identify severe weather hazards like thunderstorms and tornadoes, understand storm structure and movement, and learn about safety precautions. SKYWARN, a volunteer program, utilizes these trained spotters to provide real-time weather reports to the NWS, aiding in issuing warnings for severe weather.
Those interested will only need to attend ONE of the two-hours sessions. Seating is limited, so please RSVP online.
