The Musical Theatre concentration is for students who strive to be well-rounded performers, adept at the variety of acting, singing and movement found in the American musical theatre. Aside from the musical theatre and dance classes that lie at the heart of the concentration, students will be required to earn a minor in Vocal Music Performance in order to develop healthy singing techniques in individual voice lessons and learn the fundamentals of aural training, piano, choral singing and music history. Each year, USI Theatre produces a minimum of two musical theatre pieces, providing opportunities for students in this concentration to use the skills acquired during their classroom experiences.
