The Theatre Design and Technology concentration is for students who want to channel their creative drive into areas such as Scenic, Lighting, Costume or Sound design, Stage Management, Costume Construction, Technical Direction and Lighting Technology. USI brings in professional designers, stage managers, wardrobe supervisors, wig designers and others to work directly with students in mounting productions. TD&T students are encouraged to experience all design and technical areas to build their knowledge of work behind the scenes and increase their marketability after leaving USI. Recent graduates have continued their education at top graduate design programs or began working audio on arena tours, for lighting rental and installation companies, and as wardrobe supervisors in television and feature films.
