"During my time at USI, I have found not only a passion for dedicating my time to caring for others, but invaluable clinical experiences, mentors that have taught me lessons that I will carry for my entire career, and friends that have helped carry me through nursing school. As I approach graduation this semester, I feel confident in the skills I have learned and my ability to provide quality care for my patients and be a kind, caring and competent nurse."

Class of 2026, Nursing (BSN)
"This past summer I had the opportunity to work as a patient care intern at Riley Hospital for Children on the burn unit. I never saw myself working in the pediatric world, but the things that I learned at Riley I will take with me into any field of nursing and gave me the ability to practice skills and techniques I had not even heard of before working there.
Since working at Riley, I have found myself to be a more patient caregiver and taking more time to walk through the steps of procedures and discharges. I have also found myself using my spare time to bring small bits of joy to my patients, whether that means putting snacks on their bed as a surprise after they walk with therapy or drawing little designs on their board to brighten their day."
