Council of Department Chairs and Program Directors
The Council of Department Chairs and Program Directors at the University of Southern Indiana serves as the primary representative body and communication channel for academic department chairs and program directors across all disciplines. Composed of faculty members who hold key administrative responsibilities including faculty evaluations, course scheduling, budgeting, and curriculum development, the Council plays a vital role in faculty affairs and academic governance. The Council works collaboratively with University administration, particularly the Provost, as well as the Faculty Senate, to provide recommendations and guidance on matters affecting academic departments and programs. Through regular meetings and structured governance, the Council ensures that the voices and expertise of department chairs and program directors are heard in University decision-making processes, ultimately supporting the academic mission and operational excellence of the institution.
