Bio

I have been fortunate to have a variety of experiences that I am able to bring into the classroom and use to enhance my students' learning. I started my career as a registered dietitian as a consultant for long-term care with MEP Healthcare. In this position, I covered 9 LTC facilities and had over 500 residents.  As I began to think about starting a family, I wanted to reduce the travel that came with consulting, so I became the Clinical Nutrition Manager at Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Evansville, IN. Through my work in a clinical setting, I began to realize that I wanted to be involved in more wellness and preventive healthcare services. I changed practice areas and started working for an insurance company, Welborn Health Plans in their Welcare department. In this role, my love for wellness continued to grow but I also started working with athletes. I quickly discovered that sports nutrition was my biggest passion!

Throughout the years, I have been a guest columnist for various newspapers, magazines, and blogs. I continue to serve as a nutrition consultant for individuals and sports teams.
