Os Guinness to speak on religious freedom and diversity in free campus presentation

January 15, 2016

The University of Southern Indiana is hosting a presentation on "Religious Freedom and the Making of a World Safe for Diversity" from author and social critic Os Guinness at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 in Mitchell Auditorium, located in USI's Health Professions Center. Admission is free and open to the public.

"Diversity of interests and people is nothing new in this nation, or in the world," said USI president Dr. Linda Bennett. "Os Guinness poses a critical question: How do we live together with our deepest differences? I can't think of a topic more important for our time. I am delighted he agreed to visit our campus."

Guinness, great-great-great grandson of brewer Arthur Guinness, has written or edited more than 30 books and has been a frequent speaker at political and business conferences in both Europe and the United States. Born in China during World War II, he was expelled in 1951 and returned to England to study. His latest book, Fool's Talk: Recovering the Art of Christian Persuasion, was published by InterVarsity Press in June 2015.

Doors will open for the event at 6:15 p.m. Seating for the event will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
