Rob Millard-Mendez, associate professor of art at the University of Southern Indiana, will present "Eyes, Mind Hands: Recent Works" as the first speaker for the spring 2016 College of Liberal Arts Faculty Colloquia, a free public lecture series featuring current faculty research.

His talk will examine the various influences that fuel his sculptural works. The presentation will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, January 29, in Kleymeyer Hall (LA 0101) in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center at USI.

Millard-Mendez's presentation will not only focus on sculptural works that he has created over the past several years, but will also address various influences that powered his artwork involving historical, philosophical and literary sources. Discussion will also cover his interests in craft, folk and outsider art, and how his work deliberately plays with high/low culture.
