USI celebrates community partnerships with annual Celebration of Engagement
By Jenna Deisher, communications intern for Opportunity Development
University of Southern Indiana Outreach and Engagement will host its second annual Celebration of Engagement from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1. The event will start in the Fireside Lounge in University Center East and feature talks by University officials and a keynote address from Linda E. White, President and CEO of Deaconess Health System. Guests will then move to the second floor of the Performance Center lobby for an interactive engagement fair, networking and refreshments.
Dr. Mark Bernhard, associate provost for Outreach and Engagement, said the Celebration of Engagement will highlight the University's rich history of community engagement, which is also evident in the University's Community Engagement Classification by the Carnegie Foundation.
"I'm excited for the Celebration of Engagement," said Bernhard. "It's important to take the time each year to showcase our history as an engaged University and to highlight the successful work we have accomplished in partnership with the community. Our goal is to enhance our engagement efforts with an eye toward increased excellence in learning."
