Reynolds to discuss the misrepresentations that shape how we see the continent of Africa

The University of Southern Indiana's History Department and the College of Liberal Arts will feature Dr. Jonathan Reynolds for the 2016 Community of Scholars Lecture, at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 15 in Rice Library 0017. Reynolds will examine the historical underpinning of many common perspectives of the continent of Africa and its people, both in the past and the present in his presentation, "Unmisunderstanding Africa."
Reynolds has published scholarship in various journals, including the International Journal of African Historical Studies, History Compass, Historically Speaking, the Journal of Asian and African Studies and Comparative Studies in Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He also teaches courses in African and World History at Northern Kentucky University.
