Registration open for Run into Madness 7k

The Romain Subaru Screaming Eagles Running Series, an annual three-race series held on and around the University of Southern Indiana campus, continues Saturday, March 4, in the spirit of March Madness with the Run into Madness 7K.

Registration for the Run into Madness 7K is $20 until February 25 and $25 up until race day. Registration is available online or at the USI Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center the day of the event.

The top three male and female runners in each age group will be recognized in an awards ceremony following the race. Awards also will be given to best overall male and female and top challenged athlete in each division.

Following the Run into Madness 7K will be a free run for children. Children up to age 9 will run distances of 100 meters up to a half mile. All child runners will receive medals for participation. Strollers are welcome.

Concluding the series, the Spring into Fitness 10K will be held Saturday, April 8.

The focus of this series is to increase the health and well-being of the Evansville community while also providing hands-on experience for students in the Sport Management Program. Through these three races, USI will join forces with local organizations and businesses to develop partnerships that will potentially boost community participation on the USI campus.

All proceeds from the series will go to the USI Sport Management Scholarship Fund, professional development opportunities and future events offered through the Kinesiology and Sport Department.
