Students pose with Archie at the International Food Expo Friday, February 14, 2020
Dozens of USI students, with support from the Center for International Programs and Sodexo, delivered a delicious and entertaining International Food Expo Friday, February 14 in Carter Hall.
Heidi Gregori-Gahan, associate provost for International Programs and Services, provided the following highlights of the event:
- 20 countries represented with food booths and cultural displays
- More than 75 student volunteers prepared food
- Approximately 350 tickets sold
- More than $2,000 raised
In addition to the countries formally represented with booths, students from other areas of the world participated as volunteers or provided entertainment.
Proceeds from the event are used to offset programs sponsored by the International Club throughout the year, and a portion of the money raised is donated to an organization or charity selected by the club's officers. Previous recipients have included the American Red Cross, a local homeless shelter and a shelter for abandoned animals.
