USI to host virtual Adult Learner Expo January 28

The University of Southern Indiana will host the Ignite Your Future: Adult Learner Expo from 6-6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28. This free virtual event offers a unique opportunity to learn more about the wide variety of credentials and other resources the University offers to adult learners. The event is open to anyone considering returning to college or pursuing additional education; you do not have to be a current USI student or alumnus to attend. 

Hosted by USI Online and Adult Learning and the USI School of Graduate Studies, the Expo is designed to empower current and future adult learners by providing the tools and resources needed to pursue or return to higher education and achieve career goals. A live presentation titled, Explore Your Options at USI: Credentials That Fit Your Goals, will allow attendees to explore a variety of credentials available at USI and learn the differences between noncredit options, microcredentials, certificates and a full degree. 

Whether considering degree completion, advancing education, earning an undergraduate or graduate degree/certificate or exploring career development opportunities, the Adult Learner Expo will cover topics designed to inspire a passion for furthering education. A recording of the Expo presentation will be published the day after the event, and additional pre-recorded presentations and downloadable guides will be available on the Adult Learner Expo website at 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 28. Topics include: 

• Adult Learner Resources
• Creating Success
• Determining the Right Credential
• Aligning Your Career and Education (presented in partnership with USI’s Career Success Center)
• Taking the Next Step 

“Many adults are seeking ways to improve their career options and to meet workforce needs,” said Dr. Brian Crose, Assistant Dean of Online and Adult Learning at USI. “This Expo is designed to meet their desire for personal and professional growth, along with encouraging future adult learners to pursue their educational goals. We’re proud to support the journey of our current and future adult learners, and this is just one of the many support resources we provide."
