The University of Southern Indiana has named Matthew Brown as Director of Technical Services in Information Technology, effective Monday, June 1.

In this role, Brown will provide leadership for the University’s Technical Services area, including oversight of the IT Service Desk and support operations, as well as audio-visual services. The position is responsible for ensuring effective delivery of technology support services, managing service operations and contributing to strategic planning initiatives across Information Technology.

Brown brings nearly two decades of experience in information technology leadership, operations and support. He most recently served as Director of IT Operations for Ivy Tech Community College’s Evansville service area, where he led support teams, managed server environments and oversaw implementation, training and ongoing support for multiple technology platforms.

Prior to that role, Brown held technical leadership positions with SS&C Technologies, supporting international clients, managing server environments and leading automation, reporting and cloud migration initiatives. He also has experience as a systems administrator and technical support professional across healthcare and private-sector organizations.

Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a focus on cybersecurity systems and an associate degree in computer science from ITT Technical Institute.
