Retiree Benefits

The office of Human Resources is working to build a complete listing of all retiree benefits. The following is a short list of benefits and links to Human Resource web pages where others can be gleaned.

Photo ID
For many of the benefits available, retirees must present an Eagle Access card. You may secure a card during regular business hours from the Eagle Access Card Office in the lower level of the University Center.

Athletic Events
USI retirees may purchase season tickets for men’s and women’s athletic events on the same basis and with the same discounts as those offered full-time employees.

USI Campus Store
The Campus Store is the official source for USI apparel and textbooks. The store has an art gallery and other unique items produced by students and faculty for sale. Apple products and accessories are also available. And don’t forget about the USI employee discount*!

  • New and used textbooks 10% discount
  • Apparel 20% discount
  • Office supplies 20% discount
  • Gift items 20% discount

*Discounts are on regularly priced items and not in addition to sale prices

*Employee ID required to receive discount

*Excludes textbook rentals, food, drinks, software and Apple store products

Recreation, Fitness and Wellness
Retirees maintain full access to the campus Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center, its programs, facilities, and equipment.

Rice Library
With an Eagle Access card, retirees have the same borrowing privileges as full-time employees, including interlibrary loan. Retirees using WIFI and databases will need to obtain a temporary ID and Password at the Check Out desk.

Outreach and Engagement
University retirees are eligible to receive a reduced rate for noncredit classes. Once approved for the waiver, retirees will be registered in noncredit activities only after enrollment has reached the break-even point for the course. Spaces will be limited and enrollments will be taken on a first-come, first served basis. Complete the fee-waiver application here.
