HR launches new online Form I-9

On Monday, April 1, Human Resources will go live with a new electronic Form I-9, which will replace the existing paper Form I-9. New hires with start dates on or after April 1, 2024, will be required to complete their Form I-9 online, and the use of paper Form I-9s found in paper and electronic tax packets will be discontinued. The requirement to present original, unexpired documents to Human Resources to confirm an individual’s identity and eligibility to work in the United States is not changing.
What to expect:
- New hires (support, administrative, and faculty) will receive an email invitation to complete Section 1 of the I-9 online before submitting documentation to Human Resources.
- New student workers will receive an email invitation to complete Section 1 of the I-9 online on the day they visit Human Resources with their documentation.
- Please plan to be in the Human Resources office for approximately 15-20 minutes for document verification.
