ArchieBot AI assistant to launch on USI website

University Web and Digital Content has been exploring ways to integrate AI into the USI website to enhance user experience and streamline assistance for our visitors, ensuring easier access to answers and information.

Following numerous vendor demonstrations and consultations with peer institutions, University Web and Digital Content has identified an AI Chatbot solution that aligns with the University’s requirements. Meet "ArchieBot," a solution as intelligent as our website, capable of integrating knowledge from partner websites, documents and PDFs into its database. If a question remains unanswered, or if the visitor prefers human interaction, we have the capability to seamlessly hand off to human assistance.

Peer institutions have reported a decrease in calls/emails pertaining to topics that were well-explained elsewhere with use of the Chatbot. Roughly 80% of the Chatbot engagements could be resolved without a handoff. Other institutions also noticed an increase in engagement over evenings, weekends and holidays. For those times questions aren’t easily answered by the Chatbot, the reporting dashboard was able to show those knowledge gaps to better direct the team on content improvements on the website.

University Web has soft launched ArchieBot on seven high-traffic websites to monitor use and functionality and, in the coming week, the team will fully launch the tool across the USI website.
