Moffett to release new book

April 25, 2023

Rosalie Moffett, Assistant Professor of English, will release a new book of poetry, Making A Living, in 2024 from publisher Milkweed Editions.

In this book, Moffett's poems consider the nature of hope, what can be revered, motherhood and the limits and possibilities of the human. The collection asks how to think about the future in the context of capitalism, consumerism, Crazy Bob's Cajun Chicken, mass shootings, the tentacular Amazon fulfillment center, Scrooge McDuck and Lucky Charms.

Poems from the collection have recently appeared in recent literary journals as well, including:

American Poetry Review: “The Pea Shoots with their Thin Tendrils” and “This Landscape” (2023)

West Branch: “Happy,” “Insinkerator Supreme” and “Time & Place” (nominated for a 2022 Pushcart Prize)

New England Review: “Hysterosalpingography,” (nominated for a Pushcart, appeared on Poetry Daily) “Shriek Mark” (2022)

American Poetry Review: “#Blessed” (2021)
