"Micro Masterpieces: Magnifying Miniatures" on display through June

University Art Collection announces Micro Masterpieces: Magnifying Miniatures, a new exhibition showcasing some of the smallest and most intricate works from the University Art Collection. Now on view at The Wall, located in the Liberal Arts Center through June 2026, the exhibition invites visitors to slow down, look closely and discover the artistry contained within these tiny creations.

Much like their larger counterparts, these micro works are built on the same fundamental elements of design, employ techniques requiring extraordinary precision, and evoke emotions far larger than their scale. The exhibition also includes miniature three-dimensional works, highlighting artists who embrace the unique challenges of sculpting in the micro realm.

“This exhibition is special because it shows artwork that is simply too small to display effectively across campus. Here, in this dedicated setting, each piece can be closely examined and truly appreciated. The scale invites viewers to slow down, lean in, and discover details that might otherwise go unnoticed,” says Susan Colaricci Sauls M'16, Director of the University Art Collections and curator of the exhibition.

To enhance the viewing experience, magnifying glasses are available for visitors—adding an element of discovery and delight.

The Wall serves as a 10-minute art appreciation experience featuring rotating selections from the University Art Collection. The space is located on the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center, just before entering the McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries.
