If you’re interested in actuarial science, the USI Mathematical Sciences Department offers a supportive community dedicated to advancing knowledge in this field. Small class sizes foster strong relationships and personalized attention from faculty.
In addition to standard mathematics courses, the actuarial track includes classes in interest theory, statistics, regression, time series, computer programming, economics, finance, and accounting. You'll have the opportunity to select upper-level electives in pure and applied mathematics and gain experience with mathematical and statistical software in a dedicated study room. Many math majors join Mu Gamma Pi, the USI Mathematics Club, which hosts guest speakers, math competitions, and various social activities throughout the year.
