USI Summer Bucket List
June 3, 2022
Looking to enjoy the warm weather and add some fun to your summer plans? Check out our summer bucket list for five fun things to do spice up your summer campus plans.
Lap swim in the Aquatic Center
Nothing says summer like a quick dip in the pool. Utilize the new Aquatic Center by swimming some laps during the open swim hours, available to all USI students and employees to enjoy Monday through Friday. Open swim hours change weekly throughout the summer, so make sure to call the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center (812-461-5268) to check hours before you go.
Take a break and enjoy the beauty campus has to offer by walking the loop. The campus loop path takes walkers and runners around the outskirts of campus. Most start at the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center, but the loop can be started at any point and can be walked/ran either way. The loop is roughly a mile-long.
The Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center offers bicycles for USI students and employees to rent. Scan your USI ID at the RFWC and cycle around campus or one of the many trails USI has to offer.
Read a book by Reflection Lake
Kick back and relax by reading a book by Reflection Lake. Don't have a good summer read in mind? Check out a book included in the Rice Library Summer Reading List while listening to the soothing sounds of Reflection Lake.
Looking for a place to relax and hang out with friends? Grab a hammock and enjoy some fresh air! Hang solo between two trees on campus or utilize the different hammocking spots located by the residence halls and in housing areas.
