Which program is right for me?
Our students proudly represent a wide range of education experience. Whether you're interested in continuing your education as an adult or starting your higher education journey for the first time, you’ll find that colleges offer several types of programs to fit your needs. While they can all help you build skills, they differ in length, purpose, and the credential you earn upon completion.
Degree Programs
Split between the introductory, "Undergraduate" bachelor’s degrees and the more advanced, post-bachelor's degree "Graduate" programs that provide master’s and doctoral qualifications, degree programs provide the most comprehensive coverage on their respective subjects. The workload includes major courses focused on your specific field of study, elective classes to support your major and expand your learning experience, and general education classes that form the bedrock of a classic collegiate education. While degrees are typically the longest to complete, they are often the most significant credentials that employers expect for certain fields and qualify you for long-term career advancement.
Certificate Programs
Focused on specific skill sets and areas of study, our certificates help expand and additionally qualify professionals at the Graduate level (bachelor's degree is required). Certificate programs are shorter than full graduate degree programs and can help you qualify for certain jobs faster, strengthen your résumé, or build toward a graduate degree in the future.
Microcredential Programs
Microcredentials are the shortest and most subject matter targeted option. These programs are designed to quickly teach a particular skill or competency, often connected to workplace needs. Microcredentials can be used for professional upskilling, re-skilling, or gaining confidence before committing to a longer program.
USI Online Learning also offers the following noncredit courses and certificate programs.
