The University of Southern Indiana offers a two-year program in respiratory therapy, culminating in an Associate of Science degree. All core curriculum courses and most respiratory therapy courses are given at the University campus. Clinical training is provided at Deaconess Hospital, Gateway, Community Methodist, Owensboro, Select, Vincennes, and St. Mary's Medical Center, under qualified medical supervision. The combination of academic work, clinical rotations, and physician contact provides the student with an intense preparation necessary for an exciting, rewarding career as a respiratory therapist. Enrollment is limited and applications to the program should be submitted before April 1 of the year the applicant desires entrance into the program.
Starting in the fall semester of 2014, degree requirements may have significantly changed due to the launch of the University Core 39. Students entering the University of Southern Indiana before the fall semester of 2014 may be required to complete the old University Core Curriculum. See previous versions of the USI Academic Bulletin for degree requirements for previous bulletin years.
