The USI Foundation is Here for You!
Although USI offers the lowest tuition of any four-year public institution in Indiana, financial challenges and obstacles are very real when attaining a degree. Charitable gifts make it possible for USI students to succeed, either it be through enriched academic programs or scholarship support.
If you have any Foundation Scholarship questions and would like to speak with a scholarship team member, please call (812) 461-5317 or (812) 465-7172. You may also email at: foundation.scholarships@usi.edu.
If you are seeking immediate financial assistance, please complete a Financial Care Team Referral by clicking on the "Financial Wellness Form" button and someone will be in contact with you shortly.
Funding Request for Special Opportunities - For Employees and Students
Financial Wellness
If a student is in need of financial assistance (example: paying for tuition and other costs associated with the student’s USI account) the Financial Wellness Team Form must be submitted. By completing this form, the University Financial Care Team, consisting of University personnel, will assess a student’s financial situation and direct the student to appropriate departments and resources.
The goal of the Financial Care Team is to assist students who find themselves in unexpected financial distress. The team will thoroughly assess each situation and direct the student to the appropriate resources on campus for assistance with payment options, employment opportunities, housing, personal budgeting skills, or financial resources.

Current, incoming and transfer students should click on the AwardSpring icon through MyUSI to complete a single application. The software will automatically match potential recipients to scholarships based on application information and criteria established by the scholarship donor.
Information obtained during admission to the University will be automatically uploaded to the AwardSpring application; however, a student must access and complete the entire AwardSpring application to be eligible to receive a scholarship through the USI Foundation. Current students who have completed at least one semester will also have their major and GPA automatically uploaded. A new scholarship application must be submitted each academic year.
Fundraising for Student Organizations
USI student organizations should approach Student Development with any fundraising initiatives they would like to carry out. If involvement of the USI Foundation is needed, we can provide resources to directly assist student organizations with their efforts. Also, the USI Foundation holds relationships with community corporations, foundations, and organizations who have indicated they only want to receive fundraising correspondence from the USI Foundation. Working together with the Student Development and the USI Foundation ensures student organizations can successfully carry out their fundraising initiatives.
