The Office of Sponsored Projects and Research Administration (OSPRA) has updated its name to better reflect its functions and is the Office of Sponsored Projects & Research (OSPR).

OSPR is dedicated to promoting a supportive environment for research, scholarly, and creative endeavors of faculty and academic staff at USI. OSPR supports faculty and staff in their efforts to seek and secure extramural funding through research development and research administration. OSPR also monitors compliance of Federal, State, and University-related regulations, administers the review of human subjects research (IRB), provides grantsmanship, compliance, and responsible conduct of research training, and assists in non-financial post-award administration. We're here to help!

University Internal Grants Drop-in Sessions
The University Internal Grants support faculty members' research, creative, or engagement projects. You are invited to drop-in sessions hosted by the OSPR team. You will learn about the university-wide internal grant opportunities, get your questions answered, and have individual consultations to discuss your project.
- Tuesday, October 14 at 10-11:30 am: Getting Started
- Friday, October 24 at 11 am-12:30 pm: Refining Your Proposal
- Both sessions will be held in UC 2205. A Zoom option will be available.
To get started review the program guidelines and submit an Intent to Apply form by October 27. Submit your proposal package via Cayuse by November 3.
IRB Reviews 2024-2025
During the 2024-2025 fiscal year, the USI IRB conducted a total of 230 reviews of new and continuing projects (122 exempt, 87 expedited, and 21 HSR determinations). Thank you to each board member and investigator for your expertise and dedication to research at USI!
