Each year our staff are reminded through this process at just how incredible our USI students are and how much of a positive impact they have on our community. Every year is highly competitive, and this year is no different.

Delaney Anthis - Vincennes, Indiana
Delaney is a junior exercise science major on a pre-physical therapy track from Vincennes, IN – Indiana’s oldest city just an hour north of Evansville, IN. A not-so-fun fact about her is that she has -7.00 vision, but don’t worry, she always has her contacts or glasses. She is involved in many different areas of campus, such as being an Orientation Leader, Student Ambassador, Welcome Week Leader, Treasurer for the Asian Student Union, AVP of Campus Engagement for the Student Government Association, Chair for the Future Alumni Ambassadors, an Intramural Supervisor, Anatomy SI and a member of Book Brewers. She hopes to pursue a career in orthopedic outpatient physical therapy, continue to obtain education, and to stay positive!
Breckin Sauer - Corydon, Kentucky
Breckin is a senior business administration major from Corydon, KY. He is a dedicated member of Sigma Pi Fraternity, Theta-Psi Chapter, where he currently serves as Worthy Herald, Alumni Relations Chair, and Chair of Smoke on the Ohio. Over the past four years, he has held more than eight leadership positions within the fraternity, also serving as President of the Interfraternity Council. Breckin has personally raised over $19,000 in philanthropy dollars through Smoke on the Ohio contributions and completed more than 220 community service hours. His leadership reflects a strong commitment to service, brotherhood, and the advancement of Greek Life at the University of Southern Indiana. He is passionate about representing his community with pride, integrity, and dedication
Mallory Friend - Vincennes, IN
Mallory is a sophomore political science and sociology double major with a minor in pre-law from Vincennes, IN. She works on campus as an orientation leader and special events student manager, and back home as a barista. She founded the Rotaract Club and serve as its president. She is also in SGA, Pre-Law Club, Students Demand Action, the Honors Council and has been a Welcome Week leader. If she’s not in class or at the library, she is either studying with a coffee in hand at Honeymoon or playing pickleball!
Evan Scott - Cloverdale, Indiana
Evan is a senior computer science major from Cloverdale, IN. He serves as the president of Chi Alpha Campus Ministry, is a member of the Association for Computer Machinery, and works as a student employee in USI’s IT department. He is passionate about helping others and strives to support students in their faith journey. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, bike riding and reading. After graduation he plans to pursue a career in IT networking while remaining connected to and proudly representing USI.
Lilliana Ocasio - Owensboro, Kentucky
Lilliana is a senior elementary education major with minors in elementary mathematics and reading. She is originally from Tampa, Florida but now lives in Owensboro, Kentucky. She is actively involved in orientation and welcome week leaders, is a mathematics tutor in the Academic Success Center, is the treasurer of Turning Point USA and works closely with USI Strategic Communication, creating content for USI social media. Outside of school she enjoys going on hikes, long bike rides, and listening to almost any kind of music. USI has made a substantial impact on her life, and she finds great joy in making a positive impact on campus.
Isaac Nickelson - Marengo, Indiana
Isaac is a junior pre-medicine biology major from Marengo, Indiana. He works on campus as an orientation leader, rock wall supervisor and an organic chemistry supplemental instructor. He has a dog and cat at home, Willeh and Wowo.
Olivia Dant - Loogootee, IN
Oliva is a senior elementary education major from Loogootee. She is an enthusiastic and dedicated student who thoroughly enjoys being involved in both her academic and extracurricular activities. She participates in student organizations, supports school events and values building connections within the community. Homecoming week is her favorite tradition at USI, because it brings everyone together to celebrate school spirit. She looks forward to representing her school with pride.
Joseph Cirrincione - St. Rose, Illinois
Joseph is a junior chemistry major on the pre-medicine track and minoring in Psychology from St. Rose, Illinois. On campus, he is involved as the co-president of the Pott College Student Advisory Board, a Pott College representative in the Student Government Association, an American Chemistry Society member, founding member of the Alpha Phi Omega chapter, a member of Eagle Catholic and Pre-Professional Health Club member. He also works as a Resident Assistant in Governors Hall, and in his free time he enjoys participating in intramural sports. When he graduates, he plans on attending medical school to become a pediatrician.
Sruthika Gangisetty - Brownsburg, Indiana
Sruthika is a junior psychology major and biochemistry minor from Brownsburg, Indiana with aspirations to become the first physician in her family. She currently serves as the president of the Activities Programming Board and co-president of Book Brewers. During her time at USI, she has been involved with the South Asian Student Union, Community Health Club, the Honors Program, Psi Chi and the Student Government Association. She loves advocating for and representing student voices across campus, and making students feel accepted for who they are. In her free time, you can find her picking up a fantasy book, playing video games or exploring escape rooms with her friends.
Kyle Echert - Evansville, Indiana
Kyle is a senior mechanical engineering major from Evansville, Indiana. He is heavily involved on campus being a part of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, Solar Splash Engineering team, USI Bass Fishing team, Welcome Week leaders and Orientation Leaders. He enjoys going to basketball games and playing the USI Pep Band as well as studying in the library. He is very involved in Greek life since joining Lambda Chi Alpha his sophomore year. He plans to graduate in the Fall of 2026 and pursue a job as a design engineer.
Alexandra Buchanan - Henderson, Kentucky
Alexandra (Ally) is a senior business administration major, born and raised in Henderson, Kentucky. She was raised by her parents, Jason and Amy Buchanan and is the youngest of three siblings. During her time at USI, she has been involved as a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and the Panhellenic Council’s executive board. In service to her community she has worked as a babysitter, gaining experience in mentorship, as well as volunteering her time at the Ark Children’s Crisis Center, the Pirouette Project at Highland Elementary and the local chapter of Girls on the Run. Last summer she had the opportunity to work as an intern at Amcor/Berry plastics in the quality department which allowed her to apply her education, gain work experience, and build new connections.
Luke Payne - Henderson, Kentucky
Luke is a senior radio and television major who grew up a skip and a hop over the river in Henderson, Kentucky. He attended Murray State University before transferring to USI, something he will never regret. He is involved on campus in a few different organizations, he states he is,” just like the rest of us here at USI, trying to do my best each and every day to do some good things in this world while I’m here.”
