The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) serves to support the success of all faculty and staff contributing directly to the academic mission of USI. CETL provides holistic faculty and educational development by supporting each individual's meaningful impact on student learning and success, teaching excellence, scholarly contributions, service to the USI community, and inclusive leadership.
CETL has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the NSF's IUSE program! The project"Capacity-Building for Transforming STEM Education Through Faculty Engagement in Data Analysis and Learning Communities" will provide faculty opportunities to explore connections between teaching in STEM introductory courses, curriculum, and student retention, as well as create data dashboards for faculty (October 2020).
TheThank A Faculty or Staff Member program was launched in April 2020 and is offered each fall and spring semester. Current and past USI students are invited to express their gratitude to someone at USI who has made a difference in their educational experience. Over 240 thank you notes have been sent!
