The University of Southern Indiana New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art (NHGCA) is proud to present Christopher Blay’s temporary public art project, Signals and Satellites to the AncesStars, on view in New Harmony, Indiana, at Maclure Square through August.

During the third quarter of 2025, USI's Center for Health Professions Lifelong Learning will offer the following conferences and workshops designed to provide essential continuing education and professional development opportunities for health professionals across disciplines. 

wo University of Southern Indiana alums, Jordan Barclay and Kevin Titzer, have been traveling to film festivals around the country and overseas this past year showing their documentary Sack Race With Knives: The Curious Art of Kevin Titzer to the world and racking up an impressive list of accolades along the way.  

The University of Southern Indiana will hold five Commencement Ceremonies over two days, Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, in Liberty Arena, Home of the Screaming Eagles to recognize students from the Class of 2025 and two honorary degree recipients.

The University of Southern Indiana’s Political Science, Public Administration and Philosophy Department will host a lecture at noon on Thursday, May 1, in Kleymeyer Hall, addressing common questions such as: What happens when the Pope dies? What is a Conclave? How is the Pope elected? And who will be the next Pope?

Two student-run University of Southern Indiana media outlets, The Shield and 95.7 The Spin, will have new leadership during the 2025-26 academic year. 

The University of Southern Indiana Radio and Television (RTV) Program has, once again, earned high rankings according to the Broadcast Education Association (BEA). This year, BEA ranked USI as sixth in audio programs, 27th in sports programs and 22nd overall out of over 150 schools in the nation.

The University of Southern Indiana Chamber Choir and members of the USI Irish Traditional Ensemble will perform a concert of music from their upcoming tour to Ireland at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 at Old North United Methodist Church in Evansville, Indiana.

Dr. Teresa Beam has been appointed Dean of the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana, effective July 14. 

Maxwell Stoll, who will graduate magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in psychology, has been named the recipient of the prestigious President’s Medal, the highest honor bestowed upon an undergraduate in the University of Southern Indiana Class of 2025.

The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana will host the first Explore USI Summer Series, two-day mini camps for high school students, June 4 through July 22.  

The University of Southern Indiana is excited to host the 17th annual Tri-State Science and Engineering Fair on Thursday and Friday, March 13-14, in Carter Hall, located in University Center West on campus. This event will bring together nearly 250 student exhibitors from across the Tri-state region, showcasing their design projects and scientific research. 

On Saturday, February 8 the University of Southern Indiana hosted the annual USI Regional Science Olympiad, organized by the Southwest Indiana STEM (SwISTEM) Resource Center in collaboration with departments housed within the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education.

Because ongoing professional development is critical for all members of the medical forensic team–including nurses–the Indiana SANE Training Project is bringing national experts to Indianapolis for Empowering Medical Forensic Practice: Trauma, Teamwork and Transformation, a two-day conference May 14-15 at the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel, Keystone Crossing.

University of Southern Indiana nursing students in the Population Focused Nursing Care class, taught by Dr. Ryan Butler, Associate Professor of Nursing, have partnered with USI Public Safety to bring a Narcan box to campus and educate the community on its use. 

The University of Southern Indiana’s Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) will host a free two-day Positive Approach to Care® (PAC) Trainer Certification for those providing staff education in nursing homes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 13-14 on the USI campus. 

A pair of University of Southern Indiana students from the University of Southern Indiana’s Romain College of Business were recently selected as scholarship recipients for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, a prestigious grant program designed to assist undergraduate students in the United States with financial need for studying or interning abroad.  

A team of students from the University of Southern Indiana’s Romain College of Business’ American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter earned both individual and chapter-wide recognition for its outstanding achievements during the 2025 AMA International Collegiate Conference, held April 3-5, in New Orleans, Louisiana.   

This February, a group of students from the University of Southern Indiana’s Romain College of Business had the opportunity to travel to Canada and return home with not one, but two distinct accolades from participating in the 2025 Alberta Not-For-Profit Association External Case Competition in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  

The University of Southern Indiana Romain College of Business is expanding its Master of Business Administration (MBA) online program to include a concentration in Artificial Intelligence (AI) beginning in Fall 2025.  

Steven J. Bridges ’89 M’95, USI Interim President, will present Two Chapters for Life at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 30 in the Business and Engineering Center Atrium.
