A Student Trustee have the following expectations:
Participate in bi-monthly meetings of the Board of Trustees and special meetings as needed
Serve on at least one standing committee of the Board
Prepare for meetings by reviewing meeting documents in advance of meetings
Attendance at University events to represent the Board of Trustees as requested
Be advocates of the University mission to legislators, Commission for Higher Education members and staff, local and state elected officials, and others as appropriate
Educate themselves on issues which relate to USI and higher education generally and on major internal and external forces which define the destiny of the institution
