Dental Ethics & Legal Issues
This program will provide a virtual option due to COVID-19 restrictions for public gatherings. We are offering an online option that meets the requirements for ethics and legal content for dental professionals.
This continuing education program will explore the ethical dilemmas faced by dental practitioners and the values involved in understanding and deliberating these dilemmas. Specifically, the core values of trust, responsibility and service will be discussed within a pluralistic framework derived from real-world case examples. Indiana statutes and Indiana administrative rules governing the licensure and practice of dentists and dental hygienists will also be presented.
Dental hygienists, dentists, dental assistants, and other interested health professionals
In support of improving patient care, the University of Southern Indiana is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the health care team.
The University of Southern Indiana is an approved provider for CE credits by the Indiana Health
Professions Bureau and will provide 2 contact hours for this program. The program content meets the 2 hour ethics and professional responsibility continuing education requirements for the renewal of dentist and dental hygienist license in Indiana.
