Total Solar Eclipse Public Watch Party
Historic New Harmony invites you to join us in Church Park to watch the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8. Totality will begin at 2:01:47 pm and will last for 3 minutes, 54 seconds.
Church Park is located in the center of New Harmony, bordered by Church, West, and Tavern Streets. It was built on the original site of the two Harmonist churches. A fountain by noted sculptor Don Gummer sits in the middle of the gardens and the park is entered through a recreation of the Door of Promise, which welcomed Harmonists to their large brick church.
Staff members from Historic New Harmony and the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art will also be leading two free children's art activities in neighboring Maclure Square (corner of Main and Church Streets) on Monday, April 8 starting at 10 a.m. These activities include coloring books and making sun prints. We will have a limited number of free eclipse glasses available.
