Total Solar Eclipse
Community Weekend Tour Pass

Five New Harmony organizations are partnering together to offer area visitors a special opportunity to explore the community's rich cultural and historical sites during the weekend before the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024. Historic New Harmony, the New Harmony State Historic Site, the Rapp-Owen Granary Foundation, the Robert Lee Blaffer Foundation and the Working Men's Institute are opening 9 sites to visitors on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, 2024, through the Total Solar Eclipse Community Weekend Tour Pass. These sites include:

  • Atheneum Visitors Center
  • Double Log Cabin
  • 1830 Owen House
  • Lichtenberger Building (site of the Maximilian-Bodmer Exhibition)
  • Community House No. 2
  • Thrall's Opera House
  • Roofless Church
  • Rapp-Owen Granary
  • Working Men's Institute

Visitors may tour the sites on foot or take advantage of Historic New Harmony's hop-on/hop-off shuttle service that will start and stop at the Atheneum Visitors Center and loop through town, stopping at each of the sites as well as the New Harmony Inn and the Ribeyre Gymnasium. The Roofless Church, Rapp-Owen Granary and Working Men's Institute will be open to the public, but the rest of the sites and shuttle service will require the Community Weekend Tour Pass.
