Program Calendar - Spring 2019:

January:

1/14: HIV Testing (11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in UC 2217). Take charge of your health and #KnowYourStatus! HIV Testing is offered in partnership with AIDS Resource Group Evansville. Testing is free and confidential, and results are ready immediately. 

1/15: Be Well to Do Well table: Be Connected (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in UC West): Social connections are associated with better health. Stop by the UC West Desk to learn how you can get involved on campus and build healthy relationships. Plus, pick up some free Be Well to Do Well giveaways! 

1/24: Be Rested: Improve your snooze (4 p.m. in RL 0018): Learn basic sleep hygiene tips and online resources to help you get better sleep! This is the first workshop in a three part series. Attend all three, and be entered in a drawing to win a Keurig! 

1/29: Human Trafficking Month Speaker: K.D. Roche presents 'Family Controlled Trafficking.' (6 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium): K.D. Roche is a subject matter expert and survivor of human trafficking. They now work in the field building online training curriculum, connecting service providers, and speaking nationally. "Family Controlled Trafficking" will depict their own lived experiences as an example to understand the unique dynamics that often exist in inter-familial trafficking. This event is co-sponsored by the USI Sexual Assault & Gender Violence Prevention Group and the Southwest Indiana Regional Coalition Against Trafficking. 

February:

2/5: Be Rested: Breathe and Relax (4 p.m. in RL 0018): Practice relaxation and breathing techniques to help you sleep better. This is the second workshop in a three part series. Attend all three, and be entered in a drawing to win a Keurig!

2/12: Be Well to Do Well table: Be Safe (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in UC West): Stop by the UC West Desk to learn about safe sexual health practices! Staff from the University Health Center will be there to share information and answer your questions. Plus, pick up some free Be Well to Do Well giveaways!

2/12: Be Rested: Manage your time (4 p.m. in RL 0018): Do you feel like you simply have no time to sleep? Learn time management strategies to help you get the bed when you want to. This is the third workshop in a three part series. Attend all three, and be entered in a drawing to win a Keurig! 

2/27: Safe Spring Break Fair (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in UC East): Stop by the annual Safe Spring Break fair and learn how you can have a fun and safe time on spring break! There will be interactive games and activities to test your knowledge on topics related to responsible alcohol use, sexual health, sun safety, and more! Pick up lots of free giveaways! This event is a part of Safe Spring Break Week. 

2/27: Condom Carnival (5-7 p.m. in RFWC Quiet Lounge): Join the STARs Peer Educators for a fun and educational event about sexual health! There will be free food, games, and you guessed it - condoms! This event is a part of Safe Spring Break Week. 

March:

3/19: Be Well to Do Well table: Be Calm (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in UC West): Stop by the UC West Desk for free stress management resources. Plus, pick up free Be Well to Do Well resources! 

3/20: Sexual Health Mythbusters (5-6 p. in HP 1025): Test your knowledge about sexual health myths and facts, and have all of your questions answered by staff from the University Health Center! 

April:

4/9: Walk a Mile in her Shoes (5 p.m. in Carter Hall): Join the USI Sexual Assault & Gender Violence Prevention Group and Albion Fellows Bacon Center for this annual event recognizing sexual assault awareness month. Attendees will learn how they can take a stand against sexual violence, and will participate in a 1-mile solidarity march to symbolize walking in someone else's shoes. Campus and community dignitaries will lead the march. 

4/15: HIV Testing (11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in UC 226-227). Take charge of your health and #KnowYourStatus! HIV Testing is offered in partnership with AIDS Resource Group Evansville. Testing is free and confidential, and results are ready immediately. 

4/16: De-Stress Fest (3-5 p.m. Location TBD) - Relax with crafts and pick-up stress management resources. 

TBD: Paws & Play: Spending time with animals is a great way to reduce stress! Come to Paws & Play to visit with therapy dogs, and enjoy other stress relieving activities like coloring and play-doh.
