Dear Alumni and Friends,
Over the past year, the University of Southern Indiana has experienced immense change.
Most notably, the University moved to NCAA Division I. Through any academic or athletic
transition, it is important to remember USI is a product of change.
On April 16, 1985, we gained our independence from Indiana State University and became
a separate state University. This came after years of hard work, grit and fierce determination
to succeed. The same spirit will help us forge our path ahead today—to exhibit our academic
and athletic abilities on a larger stage.
We have not and will not embark upon this transition alone. Just as state legislators, local
leadership and community members came together in support of USI’s independence in
1985, the past year has demonstrated our network of alumni and friends remains steadfast
in your commitment to the University. Your gifts demonstrate your belief in this institution,
its students and the milestones we will accomplish together.
Progress is impossible without change. As we go onward, we are profoundly grateful for
your dedication to our mission and vision. Thank you for your continued investment in the
University of Southern Indiana.
