Career Fairs

The USI Internship and Career Fair is an opportunity to connect students looking for internships and jobs with employers from across the region. This in-person event is held each spring and fall and features over 100 organizations. Students of all grade levels can network and learn more about potential career opportunities. This fair is open to all majors.

The Teacher and Education Recruitment Fair brings school districts from across the region to USI’s campus to connect with teacher candidates and soon-to-be graduates. District representatives will be available to discuss job openings, answer questions, and share insights about working in their schools. This event offers valuable networking opportunities for students pursuing careers in education.

Held early each fall semester, the Part-Time Job Fair connects students with on- and off-campus employers offering flexible, student-friendly positions. These roles are designed to accommodate class schedules and support students seeking part-time work.

The Health Professions Career Fair at USI is designed for students pursuing careers in healthcare-related fields such as nursing, health services, sonography, dental hygiene and more. Employers from hospitals, clinics, and healthcare organizations attend to share information about full-time positions and other career opportunities. This event provides a great chance for students to network, explore potential employers, and take the next step toward a career in health professions.

The Career Success Center offers numerous opportunities for resume reviews, including drop-in sessions, employer-hosted review days, and special events held before career fairs. Many of these events do not require an appointment just bring a paper copy of your resume or a digital version on your laptop.

Stay informed about upcoming review events through your email and the Events tab in Career Launch. For more personalized support, students can also schedule one-on-one appointments with a Career Coordinator via Career Launch.

Each semester, employers visit USI’s campus to connect directly with students and promote job and internship opportunities within their organizations. These employer tables are typically set up inside or outside the University Center, though some may be located in the lobbies of specific colleges.

Students can find detailed information about upcoming employer visits and events by checking the Events tab in their Career Launch account.

Employers may choose to host an Open House, Lunch and Learn or information session on campus during the semester as a way to engage directly with students. These events allow employers to provide in-depth insights about their organizations, company culture, career paths, and available internships or job opportunities. Students can ask questions, network with recruiters, and learn what it takes to succeed within the company. Open Houses and information sessions offer a valuable chance for students to explore potential employers beyond traditional job fairs and build meaningful connections early in their career journey.

Current and former interns will share detailed insights about their internship journeys, including how they secured their positions, the skills and knowledge they gained, and the challenges they faced along the way. They will also discuss how their internships have shaped their career goals and how these experiences are helping to prepare them for future professional success. This panel offers valuable firsthand perspectives for students considering internship opportunities.

The workshop covers essential topics such as budgeting, interpreting contracts and job offers, and how to request more time or decline an offer professionally. It also explores both traditional job hunting strategies and advanced techniques to amplify your results— including virtual networking and the power of proactive relationship-building.

This panel event features professionals from local, state, and federal law enforcement and investigative agencies. Panelists share insights about their education, career paths, internship experiences, and the organizations they represent. Students gain valuable advice on how to prepare for careers in these fields. The panel discussion is followed by an opportunity for one-on-one conversations with the speakers.

Local professionals will share insights about their career paths, the organizations they represent, and the types of majors and skills they look for when hiring. Students will learn how your major doesn't always determine your career path and that there are many career options you may not have considered. Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to connect one-on-one with the presenters for networking and personalized advice.

Local professionals from non-profit organizations will share insights about their education, career experiences, internships, and the agencies they represent. They will also offer guidance on how to prepare for careers in the non-profit sector. The panel discussion will be followed by an opportunity for one-on-one conversations with the presenters.
