
Career Launch, powered by Symplicity, is an exclusive career platform designed specifically for USI students. All current students can access Career Launch here or through their myUSI dashboard.
Through this system, students can:
- -Search for jobs and internships tailored to their interests and majors
- -Connect with mentors for guidance and support
- -Use the video mock interview tool to practice and improve interview skills
- -Complete assessments to identify their strengths and career interests
- -Explore a variety of potential career paths
- -Schedule one-on-one appointments with a USI Career Success Coordinator, either in person or online
- -Log internship details to keep a record of their professional experience
Employers can post internships and job opportunities on the platform free of charge, providing a direct connection to USI students and recent graduates.
Career Launch FAQ
How do I log in?
Log in with your USI credentials at https://usi-csm.symplicity.com/ or through the myUSI student portal. If you have trouble accessing your account, contact the Career Success Center for assistance.
How do I search for jobs and internships?
Use the Search bar or Job & Internship Search tab to browse all posted opportunities. You can filter by keyword, location, major, class level, industry, and other criteria to find the best fit. Labels will indicate if you meet qualifications or if the job includes on-campus interviews.

How do I upload or update my resume?
Click on the circle with your initials in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, select My Documents to upload a new resume or access your existing one. You can upload your resume as a PDF or Word document. Be sure to save any changes your uploaded resume will be used when applying for jobs through Career Launch.
How do I apply for jobs?
Apply directly through Career Launch using the resume and cover letter saved in your profile. You can also “favorite” jobs to apply to later on any device.
Look for the blue "Apply" button on the job posting.
Some jobs might have links to external websites like Indeed where you will apply for the position.
How do I schedule an appointment with a Career Success Coordinator?
To schedule a one-on-one appointment:

Log in to Career Launch and navigate to the Appointment tab at the top of the page.
- Click the "Request New Appointment" button.

Select the appointment type that best suits your needs (e.g., resume review, career advising, internship guidance).

Choose whether you prefer an in-person meeting on campus or a virtual meeting via video conference.
- Click "Check Availability"

Browse available dates and times to find a slot that fits your schedule.
- Click the Coordinators name

Complete the appointment details and type a brief description of what you want to discuss during the meeting to help your coordinator prepare. Click "Submit Request"

If you have a resume, email it to your coordinator at least 24 hours before the appointment.

Confirm your appointment—once booked, you will receive a confirmation email with details and any necessary instructions.

You can reschedule or cancel appointments through the same tab if needed.

How do I find and sign up for career events?
Use the Events tab in Career Launch to view all upcoming career fairs, workshops, employer information sessions, and other career-related events.
To sign up or learn more:

Browse the list of upcoming events or use filters to search by event type or date.

Click on the event title to view full details, including time, location, and description.

Click RSVP or Sign Up to register for the event.
Signing up ensures you receive reminders and any important updates related to the event.
How do I report my internship experience in Career Launch?
To officially report your internship or other experiential learning opportunity:

From your Career Launch home page, click on the "Internships and Experiential Learning" button.

Select “Add New Experience” to begin entering your internship details.

Complete all required fields, including employer name, position title, start and end dates, supervisor contact information, and a brief description of your responsibilities.

If your internship is for academic credit, additional fields may appear for faculty approval or course details.

Submit the form for review by the Career Success Center.
Important: Reporting your internship in Career Launch does not register you for academic credit. If you are required to earn credit for your internship, contact your academic department to complete the proper registration process.
Logging your experience in Career Launch allows the Career Success Center to support you, keep a professional record on file, and assist with verification if needed for future opportunities or funding.
How do I practice interview skills?
To improve your interview skills using the video mock interview tool:

Click on the Resources tab at the top of your Career Launch home page.

Select "Mock Interview" from the list of available tools.

Choose from a variety of pre-recorded interview questions to simulate a real interview experience.

Record your responses using your webcam and review the playback to assess your performance.

How can I connect with a mentor?
To find and connect with a professional mentor in your field of interest:

Go to the Resources tab in Career Launch.

Click on "Mentor Match", then select "Find a Mentor".

Browse the list of available mentors and review their bios and areas of expertise.

When you find someone you'd like to connect with, click "Request Mentorship".

Type a short message introducing yourself, explaining your interest, and include your USI email address.
