(MUS: contemporary classical) Adults aged 65 or older are soon going to outnumber children under the age of 18 for the first time in U.S. history. Passionate health care professionals that will advocate for older adults are needed now more than ever. Become the champion seniors need (ANN: I’m here for you) with the USI Social Services Designee Certificate! (MUS picks up) Through this fifteen-credit hour program, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the role of social services within long-term care, all while gaining credit towards your bachelor’s degree. Nursing homes need caring people like you to help residents with their personal needs, from (SFX: receipt printing) financial and legal matters, (SFX: video call connecting) to counseling and family support. The Social Services Designee position in a nursing home is a career path, as well as a launching point for other in-demand healthcare leadership roles. More than half of all adults in the US are impacted, and struggle with stress (ANN: sigh), controlling symptoms (ANN: *wince* ow…), or medication management (SFX: shake pill bottle). (MUS change) Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions is a free, evidence based program that teaches techniques for handling fatigue, pain, stress, nutrition, and more. In-person workshops begin June 1st at SWIRCA & More in Evansville, and virtual sessions begin September 5th.
