What is S.A.G.A.?

The Sexuality and Gender Alliance (S.A.G.A.) is a student organization dedicated to the promotion of understanding and equality at the University of Southern Indiana (USI) and surrounding community. Our goal is to provide a safe space for everyone: all sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome! Not only do we encourage members of the LGBTQ+ community to join our organization, but also LGBTQ+ allies and anyone who wants to learn more about issues concerning the LGBTQ+ community. We host a variety of events throughout the school year, and we have club meetings every Thursday.
The group is the only student-run LGBTQ+ organization on campus, and they have meetings every Thursday that alternate between discussion meetings (where they discuss a particular topic, like asexuality or bisexuality) and "fun" meetings (where they play board games, have trivia nights, etc.).

The group has sponsored events connected to Trans Day of Remembrance and National Coming Out Day and have hosted queer movie nights (among other events). Everyone is welcome at meetings and events, including allies. Recently, S.A.G.A. has partnered with Gender and Sexuality Resources at USI to further support queer students on campus.
