In this 96-hour certificate you will take your web design skills to the next level and improve your qualifications with this certificate. You'll write your own HTML code and delve into CSS3 and HTML5. Depending on the elective you choose, you'll learn about search engine optimization, programming, databases or dynamic websites. There are three required classes and one elective.

To receive the certificate, complete the following four classes and receive 70% or higher on each of the finals.  Courses can be taken in any order. To see complete description and register click on the course titles below. The first time you register for an online course, you will be prompted to create an account.  This account will be unique for just the online courses.

Complete the following Required Courses:

  • Advanced Web Pages
    Take your web development skills to the next level as you learn how advanced websites using CSS, HTML5, media queries for mobile devices, interactive forms, and embedded video. 
  • Responsive Web Design
    Learn to build fully responsive websites optimized for mobile devices, smartphones, tablets, and desktop viewing environments.

Complete One of the following Electives:

  • Intermediate PHP and My SQL
    Learn how to create a dynamic, interactive online store using advanced PHP techniques and a MySQL database server. 
  • Intermediate Java Programming
    Deepen your understanding of the Java programming language and start writing programs that are more sophisticated and professional. 
  • Intermediate SQL
    Advance your knowledge of SQL in this flexible online course. You will learn how to write, design, and test complex SQL queries. 

Note – All courses must be taken through Lifelong Learning at the University of Southern Indiana in-order to be eligible for the certificate.

When you have completed the four courses email Outreach@usi.edu with the following and we will mail the certificate to you:

  • your name
  • certificate name
  • courses completed (names and dates)
  • current mailing address
