The Alzheimer's Association is hosting a virtual workshop titled Helpful Tips for Holiday Challenges. During this free workshop, participants will be able to learn more about holiday travel tips, involving a person living with Alzheimer's, adjusting expectations, adopting gift giving and more. On Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., Dementia Friendly Rockport is hosting their action team meeting at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Come join the team to see what Dementia Friendly Communities are and how to become a part of such communities.

Respecting Choices

On February 17 and February 24, 2023, you can participate in training to become a certified First Steps ACP Facilitator. This course is intended for professionals, healthcare providers, clergy and others involved in advance care planning facilitation. The purpose of this course is to learn effective communication and conversation skills for patient-centered ACP facilitation. Each training will be held at USI’s College of Nursing and Health Professions from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30.


Positive Approach to CareA Positive Approach to Dementia: Getting Connected and Supporting Our Neighbors

Dementia expert Teepa Snow and the PAC team are coming to the Tri-State area this April. Join Snow and the team to decode the changes we see in dementia, optimize positive interactions and learn techniques to change our judgements to true communication moments.

There are two sessions scheduled on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Snow and the team will hold the first session in Vincennes from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time. The second session will be located in Petersburg from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

A third session will also be held in Rockport on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Central Time. Check back on our events page for more information about this great opportunity soon.
