The World Languages and Cultures offers teaching majors and minors in French, German and Spanish.
Which program should I choose?
Secondary Education: Language Teaching Major
A bachelor's degree in language teaching prepares students for careers in secondary education (grades five through 12) and should be completed with the secondary education licensure minor. Additional admission requirements through the Teacher Education Department may apply. Students preparing for careers in teaching secondary school in the liberal arts should review the College of Liberal Arts' teacher licensing policy.
Elementary, Early Childhood and Special Education: Language Teaching Minor
Students planning to teach languages in elementary schools (pre-kindergarten through grade six) should complete a language teaching minor. Teacher licensure should be completed through a major in early childhood education, elementary education or special education, offered through the Teacher Education Department.
