Spotlight Event


The University of Southern Indiana College of Liberal Arts and World Languages and Cultures Department will host the Albertine Cinémathèque French Film Festival on Fridays beginning January 19 through February 23. All films will be shown with English subtitles and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Wright Administration Building, Room WA1.

Showings are open to the public at no charge.

Interdisciplinary Colloquium

The 15th Annual Colloquium features presentations exploring the concepts of locks and keys in myriad permutations. This event highlights the work of faculty and student scholars from a wide array of disciplines.

Día de Los Muertos Celebration

Celebrate Día de Los Muertos with the USI community. Enjoy treats, crafts, music, dancing, and a candle procession to honor the deceased.

Alumni Banquet

Film Festivals

Films will be shown in Forum I in the Wright Administration Building. A brief introduction will precede each film, and a discussion will follow. All films include English subtitles.

Holiday Sing-Along

Listen to language studying students sing popular holiday songs in French, German, Japanese, and Spanish at the Liberal Arts Center Labyrinth. Don't forget the hot cocoa!

You Know Who!

Enjoy refreshments, dancing, and a pageant! Join us in dressing up as your favorite foreign language and anthropology icons!

Teaching Journey

Come Together with Our Community of Language Educators! Breakfast and lunch will be provided in addition to presentations, roundtables, networking opportunities, and open discussions.

Multilingual Poetry Readings

Join us for poetry readings in the original French, German, Japanese, and Spanish languages accompanied by English translations.

World Languages and Cultures Academic Bowl

Each year, the Department of World Languages and Cultures hosts an Academic Bowl for local high schools. Students participate in French, German, Japanese, and Spanish competitions.
