USI campus closed Saturday and Sunday, January 24-25

Due to inclement weather, the University of Southern Indiana campus will be closed, and all in-person classes, activities and on-campus events are canceled beginning at noon Saturday, January 24 and continuing through Sunday, January 25. Online classes will continue asynchronously unless students are notified by their professor. Essential personnel only should report to work. If you are unsure of your status, contact your supervisor. More information and updates at USI.edu/emergency.

The Human Resources team continues to look for ways to be more efficient, to use available technology, and to be thoughtful in our use of USI resources.

Beginning with 2025 W-2 forms, all active employees will access their W-2s electronically through MyUSI.

Why this change?

  • Operational efficiency – Transitioning to electronic W-2s reduces the administrative time required for printing, folding, sealing, and mailing forms.
  • Improved reliability – Electronic delivery eliminates delays and undeliverable mail issues that often occur with USPS service.
  • Cost savings – This change reduces expenses for toner, specialized W-2 stock, postage, and staff time, allowing resources to be redirected toward supporting university goals.

 How this benefits you:

  • Faster access – You will receive your W-2 electronically on or before January 30, 2026, without waiting for mail delivery.
  • Convenience – You can print your W-2 on plain paper or save it as a PDF to your personal files or flash drive.
  • Reliability – No risk of lost or returned mail; your W-2 is always available in MyUSI.
  • History at your fingertips – Previous years’ W-2s remain available in the self-service portal for easy reference.
  • IRS guidance included – A direct link to IRS instructions is provided at the top of the form.

Option for Printed/Mailed W-2s (Active Employees):
If you prefer to receive a printed and mailed W-2, you must update your consent in MyUSI:

  1. Log in to Self Service in MyUSI.
  2. Go to the Employee Dashboard.
  3. Click Taxes on the left-hand side.
  4. Select Electronic Regulatory Consent.
  5. Uncheck the box next to “Consent to receive W-2 electronically.”

This choice will remain in effect until you elect to change it.  For 2025’s W-2, please make your choice by January 19, 2026.

Former Employees:
Anyone who is no longer employed with USI will automatically receive a printed and mailed W-2 at the address on file.

Release Date:
W-2s for 2025 will be released electronically on or before January 30, 2026. Please watch for updates in USI Today.
