Why did you choose USI and the Romain College of Business and what makes them special to you?
I chose to come to USI because I felt like I could get a more traditional college experience farther away from home without the huge campus feel. I decided to come to the Romain College of Business because of the endless certificates and opportunities it provides as well as the staff and professors in the RCOB who have given me invaluable life advice and helped me succeed in my education.

What are some of your favorite classes or experiences at Romain College?
One of my favorite classes here in the Romain College were my Human Resource classes, and I learned a lot from business law as well. One of my favorite experiences that has come out of the College of Business was my trip to Canada in February. It was a treat to be able to expand my nonprofit knowledge and learn ways to best help them succeed.

Why did you choose a major and minor?
I chose my major because of its versatility. I genuinely think getting my degree in business management has directly attributed to my leadership skills and my confidence. Being able to get a glimpse in every aspect of business has also prepared me to be the best I can be in my first professional position post grad.

What has surprised you about college?
I think what has surprised me about college is how close some of the relationships I’ve formed have gotten. I can’t imagine my life without the friends I’ve met through USI, and it’s a bittersweet goodbye.

What are some of your favorite spots on campus and why?
Some of my favorite spots on campus would have to be the Jazz Lounge and the new Rec center because of its study spaces and big windows.

What advice do you have for incoming freshmen? What do you wish someone had told you?
I would say GET INVOLVED, even if you’re a commuter. I feel like getting involved is the fastest and best way to make friends that have the same interest. I wish someone had told me to always introduce yourself to the people in your classes and who you sit by. It may seem weird, but it’s how I’ve met some really great friends.

Are there any hidden gems on campus you think everyone should know about?
I wouldn’t say this is really a hidden gem, but I think the gazebo by Reflection Lake is so pretty and the perfect place to have a picnic or read when it’s nice.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In 10 years?
In 5 years, I see myself taking off in my career and moving somewhere fun. In 10 years, I see myself settling down or moving back closer to family and continuing to work hard.

What are your career goals?
I would love to one day be HR director of a nonprofit organization, but for now my main career goal is to get myself out there and started in the Human Recourse world and get my SHRM-CP certification.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
The best piece of advice I’ve been given is from my nana that education is the apprenticeship to life. That has stuck with me my whole life and because of that I aim to be a lifelong learner!

What made you decide to pursue being president of BPA?
The opportunity to lead as well as get exposure on the back end of planning events and being a support for all the amazing officers.

What is the most challenging part of being president of BPA?
I think the most challenging part of being president of BPA is the time management skills that need to be put in to be a good president.

What are you most proud of accomplishing during your time leading BPA?
I am most proud of all the events we have worked hard to put on as well as reforming some positions so the next group of officers can be as successful as ever!

Tell us more about BPA and why USI students should get involved with it!
I love BPA because it’s for everybody, and you don’t just have to be in the Romain College of Business to be involved. Also putting on events that help students succeed like resume building workshops and talking about networking platforms is another great reason to get involved with BPA because it not only looks good on a resume but helps your future self as well.

Fun fact about you: I have three Australian Sheppard mixes.

What do you like to do outside of school?
Outside of school I spend my time working, reading, working out, playing pickleball and spending time with friends.

What are three things on your bucket list?
- Go to the Super Bowl
- Visit the Turnur Syndrome Society headquarters
- Go to Santorini to live out my Mama Mia dreams

What is one thing everyone is obsessed with that you totally don’t get the point of?
I feel like I have to say Hay Day. A lot of my family and friends play and are OBSESSED. I tried to play it for a while, but I just don’t get the hype!

What topic could you spend hours talking about?
I could talk about my dogs for hours they are like my children!
