Three student officers of USI’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi attended the 2017 Alpha Kappa Psi Convention, held August 2-5, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The convention is held every two years and consists of two main parts - the Chapter Congress Meeting and the College of Leadership. Members elect the president and vice president of the national chapter. Members also learn about the achievements of the fraternity over the past two years as well as their continuing goals for the organization.
Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional coed business fraternity. Kyle Tanriverdi, president of USI’s AKP chapter, said it’s fascinating to see other universities involved with the organization internationally. There are nearly 300 schools represented at the convention, from across the United States as well as England, Canada, and Asia.
