The University of Southern Indiana's American Marketing Association (AMA) Chapter recently traveled to Wisconsin-Whitewater for a weekend of competition, collaboration and representing the Romain College of Business over the weekend of October 16-17.
In addition to the competitions, our team heard from keynote speaker, Miranda Banks, SVP of Marketing Strategy, Insights, & Customer Experience at Kohl's, and Sharad Chadha, President and CEO at Sprecher Brewing Company. They also participated in the AMA Chapter Social & Game Night where they met fellow chapters and participated in fun events.
The students who attended this competition were grateful for the experience and the opportunity to participate in such events as a student in the Romain College of Business.
“One of my favorite things about attending conferences and competitions is seeing how much I’ve grown along the way. With every competition, I’ve become more confident in myself, my abilities, and my ability to connect with people from different backgrounds. The AMA Regional Conference at UW–Whitewater was another opportunity to challenge myself, build meaningful connections, and put what I’ve learned in the classroom into practice. I’m grateful that the Romain College of Business provides us with opportunities to grow both personally and professionally," said Teekay Nalwimba.
Jacob Pugh added: "This conference was a great opportunity to learn all about the different aspects of marketing and hear from industry experts. Even though I am not a marketing major, it's still a great way to connect with fellow students and develop a skill set in something that I enjoy."
