Sixteen business majors from Romain College attended the International Summer University, which took place July 11 to August 2, 2019, at the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrück, Germany. This year marks eight years of the program. More than 130 business students have attended since 2012, when Dr. Daria Sevastianova, associate professor of economics, began working on the German partnership for Romain College. The program attracts students from all over the world, enrolling between 50 to 80 participants every summer.

USI students earn four credits from choosing a course on Economics of Globalization, Corporate Social Responsibility, or Global Healthcare Management, plus a seminar on German Language and Culture.

In addition to the academic component, the students made company visits to Kämmerer, a high-tech paper manufacturing plant; KME, a copper processing facility; the Münster-Osnabrück airport; the local Chamber of Commerce; and L&T Department Store. On the weekends, the students traveled to Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris, as well as many other European cities upon completion of the program.
