Welcome to STEM Discovery Lab at USI!
The STEM Discovery Lab at the University of Southern Indiana, made possible by generous funding from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation, offers hands-on, standards-aligned STEM lessons and activities for K-8 student groups. Guided by professional STEM educators, our lessons allow formal and informal teachers to choose an activity that meets their students’ curricular needs, ensuring a high-quality, customized learning experience for our visitors.
Located in the Rice Library, our brand-new facility will open to the public during the spring of 2026. Teachers can book a STEM activity, lead a self-guided tour of the university grounds, explore our expansive trail system for outdoor and environmental education activities, and enjoy a sack lunch on campus. Discover the joy of STEM with us! Reservations for field trips for the 2026 spring semester will open in the coming months. Please check back frequently! We are excite to be there as your students uncover new possibilities through hands-on learning at USI!
