Welcome to STEM Discovery Lab at USI!

Step into a world of hands-on learning at the STEM Discovery Lab, located in the David L. Rice Library at the University of Southern Indiana. Made possible by generous funding from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation and the Alcoa Foundation, our space offers standards-aligned STEM activities designed just for K-8 student groups. Led by experienced STEM educators, these lessons from our curated catalog let teachers pick the perfect fit for their classroom, delivering engaging, curriculum-connected experiences that bring science, technology, engineering, and math to life.

Opening to the public in spring 2026, the lab is your gateway to a morning or afternoon on campus: reserve a guided STEM session, take a self-guided tour of our beautiful grounds, wander the expansive trail system for nature-based learning, and relax with a sack lunch on our lively campus.

Ready to plan your visit? Reservations for spring 2026 field trips will open soon—check back often for updates. We are excited to welcome you and be a part of the experience as your students explore, create, and connect with STEM in meaningful ways at USI! For questions, email stem.center@usi.edu.
