Whether you are already planning a field trip for your students or simply curious about K–8 hands-on STEM engagement at USI, we hope you will stop by the brand-new STEM Discovery Lab, powered by the CenterPoint Energy Foundation.
The lab offers standards-aligned, educator-led field trip activities for K–8 groups. Fall and Spring 2026 field trip reservations are already open.

Description: Battle the forces of nature in this earth-shaking erosion showdown! Students measure the dramatic effects of water, then engineer ingenious solutions to combat erosion—transforming potential disaster into a fun display of problem-solving genius. Appropriate for grades K-6.
