USI's theatre degree provides you with rare opportunities that only the best college theatre programs offer. USI Theatre stages four main-stage shows during each academic year, along with student-directed offerings and a freshman showcase in our black box theatre, the Mallette Studio Theatre.
You will have a chance to work and perform in every theatre genre, from contemporary to classical, straight plays to musicals. Meanwhile, our theatre labs empower you to gain hands-on experience in every aspect of theatre production, from set design and construction to costumes, lighting, sound and props.
Every two years USI Theatre and the USI foundation produce an original opera written by patron of the university, Philip H. Hagemann. Professional Opera singer Alison Buchanan, Artistic Director of Pegasus Opera Company (London) and Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra join our students on stage for these professional-level productions.
